    District 9810 wins GSE 40th Anniversary Poster Competition

    The Rotary Foundation announced early in 2006 that District 9810 is the winner of the world wide poster competition to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Group Study Exchange Programme. Congratulations to DG Dick Garner and his team that travelled to Sacramento, USA in 2004, for their successful entry. Also to David Roberts from RC Templestowe for his considerable help in the graphic design.

    Wilf Wilkinson leads Rotary International in 2006-07

    Wilfrid J. Wilkinson, of the Rotary Club of Trenton, Ontario, Canada is the President of Rotary International for 2007-08. Many Rotarians in our district know and Wilf and his wife Joan and they have traveled to Australa on a number of occasions. We can be assured they will do a magnificent job for Rotary.

     

    Wilkinson was a founding partner of Wilkinson & Company, Chartered Accountants. Since retiring in 2001, he has served as executive director of the Quinte Ballet School of Canada and Canadian coordinator for the National Association of Forensic Accountants.

     

    A Rotarian since 1962, Wilkinson is currently a PolioPlus National Advocacy Adviser and a member at large of the PolioPlus Partners Task Force. Previously, he has served RI as district governor, International Assembly group discussion leader, consultative group member, committee member and chair, task force member, Foundation trustee, director, and vice president. Most recently, he was chair of the 2005 Chicago Convention Committee and vice chair of RI's Afghan refugee relief project.

    Ian Riseley is a Rotary International Treasurer in 2007-08

    District 9810 is honoured to have one of own past governors, Ian Riseley of the Rotary Club of Sandringham, as Rotary International Director for 2006-08. Ian is the first RI Director from our District and only the third Victorian Director in our Rotary history. Now in the second year of his appointment as a Director, Ian is also the Treasurer for Rotary International for 2007-08.  Congratulations Ian.
