Biography:

Cindy Nessim Youssef is a 2003 graduate of Southside High School’s International Baccalaureate Program and a 2007 graduate of Furman University (B.A. in Political Science and Latin American Studies). While at Furman, Cindy took advantage of several international travel experiences.

 

As a sophomore, she was selected to represent Furman and the United States at the annual Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Conference (APEC) in Santiago, Chile. As a result of her successful trip, Cindy was hired to work as Program Manager for the Virtual Trade Mission Foundation, the organization that sponsors APEC student engagement. Cindy further traveled with APEC to Busan, South Korea (2005); Hanoi, Viet Nam (2006); and Sydney, Australia (2007).

Cindy has also held many leadership roles as a student. She was selected as a member of Senior Order, the premiere Women’s Honor Society at Furman. In addition, Cindy was inducted to the Student Leadership Hall of Fame as well as a 2007 Who’s Who Among America’s Colleges and Universities.

 

Following Graduation, Cindy began working as the Program Associate for the Richard W. Riley Institute for Government, Politics, and Public Leadership. Cindy will begin her Ambassadorial Scholarship studies at Monash University, where she will earn a Masters in International Relations.
